Peter Van De Velde
Flemish, 1634-1687

Peter Van De Velde became a master in 1654. In 1672 he marries the daughter of the sculptor Sebastian De Neve.  He was then allowed to go to England where he continued to do his work, he is very famous for his harbor scenes. This is a fine example of his work as it combines both land and ocean views. This painting is in fine condition and is of large size. His works are rare and are sought after by collectors.
